Barnsley in South Yorkshire is a great place to be. We are proud of our unique industrial heritage, our stunning countryside and our diverse communities. Berneslai Homes is the housing company responsible for managing 18,500 homes on behalf of Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council and we’re all about delivering for a Better Barnsley.
Our residents tell us that we consistently deliver high quality housing and excellent customer service but our contribution to the health, prosperity and future of our borough does not stop there. We go above and beyond to enable our residents to live fulfilling lives, to support skills development, economic growth and building strong, safe communities where people want to live.
After a very successful career, our chief executive, Helen Jaggar, is retiring. Under her leadership, the company has delivered decent homes, achieved top quartile performance, delivers outstanding value for money and has won many national awards.
We are looking for someone with excellent leadership experience and a solid track record of working in or with the social housing sector and achieving brilliant outcomes. Someone who has the capacity to work with residents, board and partners to innovate, inspire and drive forward ambitions for our people, places and communities.
We also want a leader with the capacity to contribute to the economic growth, health and wellbeing of Barnsley. We’re looking for someone with excellent leadership skills and an innovator who will provide inspiration to a committed team of staff, tenants, partners and the Board.
In return, we offer the opportunity to lead a successful organisation with a highly committed Board and a passionate workforce that has a significant impact in the community we serve as well as influencing at
a regional and national level.
