Senior Development Officer

Wokingham Housing (WHL) is looking for a Senior Development Officer to join this thought leading organisation in achieving its objectives of building more affordable housing for local people on the housing register whilst generating a financial return for our shareholder, Wokingham Borough Council. This role combines taking developments from concept through to completion and hand over to our sister organisations.

We are passionate about making a difference to the housing opportunities available to local people, while not compromising the beauty of the area we develop homes in. WHL is at the vanguard of how Local Housing Companies are used by their sponsoring local authority.

The successful applicant will report to the Head of Development and Operations to deliver a strong programme of development and help build our future pipeline. The post holder will be able to contribute to the pipeline direction of the organisation and in doing so will be able to build a business case for the role’s permanency.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to meeting the ever increasing need for a range of social and affordable houses and apartments in the Borough. The post holder will be an instrumental part of the development delivery team.

We are seeking someone with experience in development from initial feasibility to submission of planning applications and overseeing of on site design and build contracts. The successful candidate will have acute attention to detail, an ability to oversee multiple projects at one time and who is looking to grow within the sector.
