Housing Maintenance Risk Management Officer

Reporting directly to the Technical Services Manager, you will lead on planning, designing and implementing the Risk Management Strategy for the Council’s Housing stock. You will have the confidence to advise senior managers/ contractors persuasively about compliance issues. Your job will include conducting regular risk assessments to identify, analyse and eliminate/ mitigate any potential risks and leading on monitoring contractors’ compliance with Health and Safety issues.

The successful candidate is likely to have extensive experience in carrying out risk/fire risk assessments and developing risk management strategies within the construction industry or a housing maintenance function. He/she would be experienced in contract liaison and management and possess experience/knowledge of statutory compliance requirements for gas, asbestos and legionella. Your ability to work independently and to deadlines will be key to managing your responsibilities. You will also have opportunity to participate in team and corporate projects.
