An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate Community Engagement Manager to join Community Gateway Association (CGA), a tenant led mutual housing association based in Preston.  The Community Engagement Manager will champion the principles of the Gateway Model and mutuality within our organisation and our communities as well as contribute to the national agenda of tenant accountability.  

Summary of the role…

You will lead on the delivery of our Community Empowerment Strategy delivering a range of engagement activities which align to our corporate strategic priorities. You will be joining us at an exciting time as we have just launched our ambitious 5 year Corporate Strategy which aims to strengthen our engagement work with tenants and further develop resilient and thriving communities.

We have recently undertaken a comprehensive review of our approach to engagement and the successful candidate will lead on delivering the recommendations. We have defined our ambition for engagement as:

  • Delivering excellent engagement for current and future tenants, our communities and CGA as a business; and
  • CGA to be recognised as a leader in tenant engagement within the housing sector and beyond. 

You will work with our tenants and members to drive improvement in customer engagement and involvement to shape our services and create cohesive and resilient neighbourhoods where people are proud to live.

We are looking for an engaging leader who contributes to team spirit and the delivery of corporate objectives, ensuring that we have a positive reputation and strong local impact.

We are seeking an individual who has experience of community engagement which has delivered clearly evidenced outcomes and impacts. You will have a real passion for community involvement and be able to collaborate with a range of diverse individuals. Your personal skills will be second to none and you will be a real exemplar in inclusivity and enabling others to maximise their contribution.

Occasional evening and weekend work is a requirement of this post.  Access to a car with business insurance cover and a full driving license are essential. A satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required.
