Oadby and Wigston Borough Council is recruiting a Senior Community Housing Officer, this is an opportunity for an experienced housing professional to take that next step in their career. The aim of the post is to lead and develop a small team of Community Housing Officers whilst ensuring the community housing function ismanaged and delivered to the highest possible standard.

 This newly created post will provide the successful candidate with the chance to develop the role, bring new and innovative ideas to the team and ensure the service continues to meet the needs of our residents in a positive way.

We are looking to recruit someone to act in a senior capacity to oversee the effective management of excellent housing management, community involvement and housing support services to tenants, leaseholders and other residents, including supported housing schemes. The successful candidate will also support the Housing Manager in monitoring the service and delivering new initiatives to help drive the service forward. You will embrace the Council’s Vision and its Values in order to deliver a high quality of service to our customers.

 

The ideal applicant will:-

· Demonstrate a high standard of customer service skills to be able to communicate with a diverse range of residents including vulnerable people.

· Work within current legislation, Council policy and procedures and national frameworks to ensure the provision of the front line housing management service.

· Enjoy a varied workload where every day is different to the next.

· Be able to remain positive and calm in challenging situations ensuring a fair and effective outcome.

· Have a keen interest in leading and developing a team to ensure the team is providing the best services that will meet the needs of our residents.

· Understand the importance of maintaining accurate and relevant records and databases using their IT skills.

The successful candidate must hold a valid driving license and have access to a suitable vehicle.
