Job Details

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised person to join our collection team.  Fulfilling this great opportunity as a Collection Assistant you will work collaboratively with a network of Collection Assistants.  Responsible for providing support to the department, contributing towards the successes, delivering and maintaining services to internal and external customers whilst achieving excellent customer relations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for general administrative and office duties.  Responsible for diary and file management, distributing post and raising purchase orders on behalf of the team.  Supporting the collection of re-chargeable repairs, sub-unit and communal boiler arrears, ensuring all debits are collected effectively and in a timely manner.   Liaising with DWP to verify data for our residents who claim universal credit. 

Skills/experience required: 

Essential

Good written and verbal communication skills.
Proven attention to detail and ability to work on a variety of tasks simultaneously.
Experience of working successfully with people in either a voluntary or paid capacity in a customer focused environment.

Desirable

Basic knowledge of social housing.
Basic level computer literacy in Microsoft packages, including Word and Excel.
Knowledge of court procedures and basic legal housing matters.

Qualifications required

GCSE grade C Maths and English or equivalent or be able to demonstrate equivalent aptitude
