Executive Director of Development
Newport City Homes. Big City. Big Heart. Big Plans.
Newport’s packed full of potential and Newport City Homes (NCH) is proud to play a big part in helping the city to realise that potential, by creating vibrant and safe communities where people want to live.
We don’t just deliver homes for Newport, we deliver homes with Newport and we’re looking for an Executive Development Director to work with our board and leadership team to help realise our vision.
About us
We’re the largest social housing provider in Newport with big ambitions. We’re already looking to significantly increase our current portfolio of 250 new homes a year over the next 10 years. Our exciting regeneration plans will help to revitalise and redevelop the city.
Some of our ambitions have already become a reality. Our first new-build homes were unveiled in 2018, providing safe, warm and welcoming spaces for Newport families. One of our flagship projects, a £10million regeneration scheme in Pillgwenlly is set for completion soon and will help to tackle anti-social behaviour in one of the most deprived communities in Wales. And we’re only just getting started – can you help us shape what the future will look like?
About you
We are looking for someone with excellent leadership experience, a solid track record of achieving brilliant outcomes and an innovator who will inspire a driven and talented team. Someone who can work commercially and collaboratively with residents, our board, and partners to drive forward our ambitions for people, places, and communities. Someone who can deliver today and plan for tomorrow realising the potential of the city and NCH.
In return, as well as a six figure salary, and a generous benefits package, we offer you the opportunity to play a vital role in leading a successful association, with a highly committed board, and a passionate workforce that has a significant impact on the communities we serve.
Interested?
We look forward to hearing from you.

Nicola Sommerville | Board Chair
