Fixed term – 2 years (with brilliant opportunities for a permanent role)

Full Time (37.5 hpw)

Starting salary up to £28,800 per annum

Farringdon, London

Building our future through brilliant graduates.  That’s when it hits home.

At Home Group we’re building for the future.  We’re building homes, independence and aspirations supported by our brilliant graduates who are our next leaders and future industry thinkers. If you’re creative, collaborative and ambitious and want to be part of something brilliant then join us.

Starting in September 2019, if you’ve graduated (or due to graduate this year) and are looking for rapid career development, then our graduate programme is the perfect route for you!  It will only take you two years to become a fully qualified Assistant Development Manager (Build to Rent) where you’ll be winning new development opportunities for your region, from sourcing land to planning submission and completion of legal agreements.  You’ll be growing opportunities for our build to rent housing pipeline in your region working closely with our build to rent investor clients.

We have an ambitious target to build 10,000 new homes and you’ll play a key role in helping us to achieve this.  You’ll be supporting us to provide high quality rental housing, providing opportunities for people previously priced out of the market to live aspirational lifestyles in high quality and brilliantly designed housing.

Working within our award winning team (we’ll tell you a bit more about that later), you’ll work across Delivery, Development, Placemaking, Strategic Development/Partnerships, Built to Rent and Sales, working on live projects whilst learning your role.  In year two, you’ll specialise in Build to Rent Development on larger scale projects, gaining practical experience and relevant skills.  We’ll also sponsor you to achieve MRICS (or an equivalent relevant chartered qualification).

These are brilliant opportunities to work on a range of schemes from affordable housing to our private sales and rental brand Persona.  With a tailored development plan, on-the-job learning, formal mentoring and in the know that our previous graduates all secured permanent roles with us; what are you waiting for?

You’ll be reporting to Liliana our Senior Development Manager - Build to Rent who’s passions are the creation of sustainable mixed communities, closely followed by T’ai Chi and swimming.  (So that’s how she keeps her yin and yang in perfect balance!).  The team love a good catch up to brainstorm creative approaches which really add value for our customers through high quality design and sustainable initiatives.

You can also see our previous graduates talking about their experience in this short film.  We know you’ll also want to know more about our award winning benefits and rewards package too.

A bit about you

You’ll ideally have a 2:1 degree (or expected to achieve this) in Built Environment such as Construction, Town Planning, Land Economics, Property, Surveying or Project Management or equivalent.  You’ll be people focused and ambitious to build a successful career with us.  You’ll be eager to learn, collaborative and have a good understanding of the different deal structures required to deliver new build to rent opportunities including investor requirements.  If you have a good knowledge of residential led development schemes, real estate finance and the commercial aspects relating to housing development then that would be the icing on the cake (or should we say the sold sign on the door!).
