£27,819 per annum (rising to £29,283 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)

The Legal Services Officer will join the new Litigation team within the wider Legal Services function. The team is responsible for responding to all queries relating to housing and tenant law and corresponding litigation with a focus on disrepair claims. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, motivated and accountable individual to join a newly formed team and contribute to its development.
The role of Legal Services Officer – Litigation will include:
- Handling litigation to include a mix of possession, injunction and disrepair work
- Handling administrative processes to support litigation
- Issuing instructions to, and liaising with, the Group’s external solicitors
- Identifying areas of process improvement
- Providing support across the business with first line legal queries
Skills and experiences:
- Proven experience in litigation, particularly disrepair work
- Previous experience in a similar role working on housing matters
- Ability to communicate legal principles clearly and precisely
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- The ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise work loads
- Previous advocacy experience would be advantageous but not a necessity
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word
- Experience of a case management system is desirable
