As one of the few local authorities in the North West to directly own and manage council housing properties, we have ambitions to build further housing to add to our portfolio of over 3700 properties.

Being a strategic thinker, you will have proven experience of translating your ideas into practical delivery, and will have successfully led transformation and change projects. You will plan and deliver cost effective services and provide leadership, management and support to line managers and their teams, ensuring clarity of direction, effective communication and demonstrate working within the Councils Values. 

You will provide professional leadership and take the strategic role in managing the housing service including;

  • Council Housing
  • Repairs and Maintenance
  • Home Improvement Agency
  • Housing Options
  • Homelessness

Educated to degree level or equivalent and or management qualifications, you will have significant experience of planning and developing a strong management culture of continuous improvement, a focus on performance, great customer experience and experience in leading a housing service, which positively supports our employees and residents.

The hours of work for this role are 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday, with a flexi time system in operation. Due to the nature of this work some out of hours and weekend working will be required.

Whilst the administrative base for this role will be Palatine Hall, Dalton Square, Lancaster, the successful candidate will be required to travel to and work on other Council sites across the district.
