Job Details

We’re looking for a well-organised individual with experience of managing a variety of home owner tenure accounts in a social landlord environment to join us as a Home Ownership Officer.

The UK has a housing problem. This affects every one of us, because housing is the foundation of the society we live in. Catalyst is part of the solution. You could be too.

One of the UK’s leading housing associations, Catalyst is here to make a purposeful difference by providing housing solutions for those who can’t afford a home without our help. We offer a wide range of homes, for rent, part ownership or purchase. By doing so, we build more than homes – we build communities. Put simply, we’re committed to our social purpose - in every part of our organisation. And, we always seek to do better. If you do too, read on.

As a Home Ownership Officer you will be required to deliver our home ownership initiatives such as shared ownership, staircasing and resales including marketing homes for prospective purchasers. Ensuring compliance with home ownership requirements and meeting residents to carry out viewings of properties and ensuring they understand their obligations, rights and responsibilities are all parts of this challenging, but rewarding role. And, when it comes to helping to set up new accounts, reviewing lease terms or providing advice to residents in difficulty, again we'll count on you.

Customer focused and results driven, with strong decision making skills, you have good working knowledge of home ownership, housing management and welfare benefits legislation and practice. You’ve also worked in a demanding and rapidly changing customer service environment and dealt with a range of customers, some of whom were demanding, vulnerable or under stress. Appreciative of the difficulties of residents regarding meeting payments, at the same time you’re able to balance this against the need to ensure payments are prioritised. What’s more, you have a high level of literacy and numeracy, excellent administrative and organisational skills and proficiency using IT systems as a management tool.

We’re a Sunday Times top 100 Best Company to Work for. We invest a lot of time and resources in our people because we know it’s our people who will drive our success. If you’d like to join us, and help make a real difference, please get in touch.

This role is subject to a basic check.

Please note completed pre-employment forms must be included in order for your application to be processed.

Closing date: 20 June 2019.
