Vale of Aylesbury Housing (the Trust) is a ‘not-for-profit’ Registered Social Landlord (RSL) and we provide affordable housing for over 17,000 people living and working in Aylesbury and the surrounding villages of the Vale.  We are one of the area’s leading local social housing providers. We own and are responsible for in excess of 7,500 homes, 16 supported housing schemes, 129 shared ownership properties and over 1,500 garages that are let to the public. We also own a number of commercial units located in the Vale.  With an annual turnover of £45 million, and over 270 employees; we are clear about our purpose and aim to make a significant social and economic contribution to our communities within the Vale of Aylesbury.

This is a very exciting time to be joining us; we have recently retained our V1 / G1 rating from the regulator and our Board is setting a new and exciting strategy for growth.  We are looking to diversify our geographical presence and focus on increasing our housing development including both affordable rent and market sale.  Aylesbury Vale is a major growth area and we are well placed and resourced to thrive in this environment.

We are recruiting to the role of Executive Director of Development, a role which will be central in delivering our core business strategy as well as transforming our approach to development; you will provide the energy, vision and leadership to the team to drive forward our development aspirations and ensure a pipeline of land and development opportunities.  As a member of the Executive Management Team you will also have corporate accountability across the entire business, and we are looking for a real team player who looks at the organisation as a whole rather than just their own Directorate.

You should be an ambitious, ‘can do’ individual with a strong commercial skill set and experience of working in the Social Housing sector. You will have had exposure to a wide range of development models including land-led schemes and joint ventures.  You will have worked at a senior level in a large organisation and have a track record of successful delivery of a complex development portfolio in a strongly collaborative environment.

This is a great opportunity to join us at a time when you can have a real and personal impact on determining our future direction. We welcome applicants from all sections of the communities we work in.
