The role:

This primary purpose of this role is to deliver a high quality, cost effective and customer focused allocations, lettings and void service, which aspires to exceed customer expectations. The post holder is also expected to promote and support a range of housing options; tailored to the needs of our residents. The post holder will  need  to  work  collaboratively  with  Housing  Management,  Customer  Accounts  Development  and  One Direct Maintenance to achieve performance indicators ensuring the efficient and effective letting of voids and new stock; and to deliver an excellent service to residents and our internal and external stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a professional & customer orientated allocations, lettings and void service with due adherence to the allocations & regulatory framework, legislation, our nominations agreements, our corporate goals, the Tower Hamlets common housing register and choice based lettings.
  • Liaise with local authorities, other Registered Providers and partner agencies to deliver the service and to achieve policy objectives and key performance indicators.
  • Acquire, maintain and implement up to date knowledge on all forms of housing options and mobility initiatives to proactively advise & assist applicants seeking alternative re-housing options. This includes facilitating internal & external transfers; move on options, under occupying and overcrowding strategies.
  • Providing specialist advice and guidance to colleagues, residents and the general public on all matters relating to allocations, voids, lettings and housing options and taking action to support the sustainment of tenancies.
  • Taking a proactive  approach  to  all  aspects  of  lettings  and  housing  options  that  includes  (but is not limited to) home visits, affordability assessments, site visits, resident meetings etc.
  • Assist in ensuring the effective use of existing housing stock (in part through managing the nominations process) under the direction of the management team.
  • Effectively implement One Housing’s affordable rent and fixed term tenancy strategies
  • Contribute to the team through active and constructive participation in team meetings, the review of existing procedures and the preparation of guidance notes for the use of the team.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

 

Experience Required

  • Previous work experience in the housing or estate management sector
  • Experience of working in a customer service environment that deals directly with customers
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Proactive, self-motivated, assertive & confident with the ability to organise own work under pressure
