Job Details

We’re looking for a customer-focused individual with energy, experience and a strong sense of purpose to join us as a Development Assistant.

The UK has a housing problem. This affects every one of us, because housing is the foundation of the society we live in. Catalyst is part of the solution. You could be too.

One of the UK’s leading housing associations, Catalyst is here to make a purposeful difference by providing housing solutions for those who can’t afford a home without our help. We offer a wide range of homes, for rent, part ownership or purchase. By doing so, we build more than homes – we build communities. Put simply, we’re committed to our social purpose - in every part of our organisation. And, we always seek to do better. If you do too, read on.

We’re totally committed to delivering excellent customer experience – being easy, reliable and empathetic in the way we deal with customers, and each other.

Utilising your enthusiasm, levelheadedness and administrative experience, you will learn how to operate in a fast-moving, high pressure development environment, as you give vital assistance to colleagues and provide efficient and responsive client liaison. You will primarily be responsible for providing administrative support to the Development Managers to ensure the smooth running of their projects and budgets. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining project files, setting up and maintaining electronic files of key scheme data; and preparing scheme profiles, photographic records, and other key project info. You will be assisting with internal project updates, board reports and audit inspections. You will co-ordinate invoice payments, monitoring budgets, liaising with suppliers and contractors. Writing guides for new properties, assisting in the preparation of residents’ manuals, managing and attending handover of new properties; entering data on to Catalyst’s property management system.

You are passionate about delivering excellent customer experience every time, by being easy, reliable and empathetic in the way you deal with customers and colleagues. You will also be keen to engage in on the job learning and personal development.

To succeed in the role of Development Assistant, you will have strong interpersonal, prioritisation and record-keeping skills, and a demonstrable desire to pursue a career in development. You’ll need experience of, and a commitment to, first-class customer service. You’ll need to be able to work on your own initiative, and to help others deliver projects in a timely and immaculate fashion.

You will possess impressive IT skills – including the confident and fastidious use of databases and spreadsheets – are essential to the role; as is the ability to communicate effectively with a range of people, and to act as an effective link.
