We have a great opportunity for a Capital Works Manager to oversee the Councils in-house Capital Works team.

The successful candidate will manage and control the capital and planned maintenance of Council dwellings and other estate properties through the use of in-house DLO and external contractor resources.

This will include management of technical staff who are responsible for multi-skilled tradespersons.

Previous experience of appointing and supervising sub-contractors and suppliers is essential along with monitoring and managing performance ensuring that statutory and local service standards are achieved.

Applicants must have knowledge of health and safety legislation, estimating, tendering (including contractual conditions), Building Regulations and By-Laws and must be able to generate interim and final accounts. The ability to write concise reports and prioritise your workload under pressure as well as good leadership and organisational skills are required

A relevant managerial and technical qualification is required for this post along with a full driving licence.
