Salary

Closing date

Are you ready to take your career to the next level and put your skills, knowledge and passion to work for the benefit of young people in our community?  Do you have aspirations to become a Chief Executive in the future? Then this might be the opportunity that you are looking for.

YMCA Birmingham is an independent Christian charity, and a registered provider of social housing, affiliated to the national and international YMCA movement.  With a turnover approaching £5m, we provide accommodation for 300 young people, many of whom have experienced homelessness, and support them to get their lives back on track.  We also run three children’s nurseries, manage two community centres with conferencing facilities and deliver a range of business to business training, all of which create employment opportunities and deliver income for our charitable work.

As we move into an exciting period of growth, we are looking for an experienced and committed operations professional for this newly-created role.  Supporting the Group Chief Executive and working alongside the Assistant Chief Executive (Development & Human Resources) and the Group Finance Director, you will contribute to the strategic development of the association.

You will oversee all operational service delivery, providing line management to the Housing Services Director and Social Enterprise Director and ensuring that all YMCA Birmingham’s services are delivered to the highest standards and in accordance with our inclusive Christian ethos.  You will be responsible for identifying opportunities to grow our existing operations and for bringing new services on board.

With a minimum of five years’ experience at senior level within the social housing and/or charitable environment, you will have demonstrable experience of fundraising and bid-writing for business development projects, along with the knowledge to plan and manage new business ventures through to completion.

The post-holder will be required to provide leadership within an explicitly Christian context. There is, therefore, a genuine Occupational Requirement, in accordance with the Equalities Act 2010 (Paragraph 3, Section 9) for the post-holder to have a personal commitment to the Christian faith.

So, if you’re passionate about putting your faith into action and are committed to delivering services to the highest standard, then we want to hear from you. To apply, submit a completed application form to recruitment@ymcabirmingham.org.uk. You can download an application form below. Please note, CVs will not be considered.

The closing date for receipt of completed application forms is 8am Monday 22nd July 2019.

Interviews will take place on Monday 29 July 2019
