Peabody is looking to recruit a Business Support Apprentice on an 18 month apprenticeship based in Colchester.

To support the team within the Care & Support Directorate working alongside our contracts manager and contracts assistant. The role will be to provide administrative support to the Business Support team and the Contracts Manager. This will include a range of administrative tasks as well as working on our tenders and other projects. The role will be based in Colchester but there will be regular travel to our offices in central London. The successful candidate will receive full training and support from the team.

Departmental Responsibilities:

  • Support the team to co-ordinate, plan and ensure the smooth running of tender meetings, conference calls, commissioning events; including preparation of agendas, minute taking, collating and distribution of papers and room bookings.
  • Support the contracts team  to deliver an effective and efficient contract management service that satisfies the needs of operational and central teams.
  • To be a point of contact for colleagues  who have queries and questions regarding contracts.
  • Maintain the contracts and new business email inboxes and respond to any queries as required.
  • Produce professional documents to the required standard and using appropriate templates.
  • Provide a comprehensive and prompt service, ensuring that all documents and reports are prepared accurately and within agreed deadlines; this includes minutes, reports, letters, memos, spreadsheets and KPIs.
  • Ensure hard copies of contracts are filed correctly.
  • Maintain a range of documents ensuring that they are accurate and kept up to date.

Skills/experience required:

 Essential:

 Willingness to learn new skills and be flexible in your approach

  • Ability to work independently, exercising good initiative and judgement
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Excellent all-round IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Good Maths and English skills (GCSE Grade C or above)
  • Time management and prioritisation skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work on a variety of tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and targets
  • Positive attitude and proactive approach to personal development
  • Strong approach to teamwork and the ability to work collaboratively

 Desirable:

  • Educated to A-level standard
  • Experience working as part of a team

 Qualifications required:

  • 5 GCSE’s at Grade 4 or higher (A-C equivalent) including Maths and English or a Level 2 apprenticeship in business related discipline
