Location: Oxfordshire
Salary: £68,785- £74,733

Duration: 12 months Fixed Term Contract

THE ROLE

We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced building professional to lead and head up the Property Services division of this busy Local Authority.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable experience in a senior leadership position and with a track record in the industry for managing change, driving improvement and setting asset management strategies as well as having programme, project and contract management experience.

The Property Services Team provides professional resources in the form of surveyors, project managers and engineers to support the day to day building maintenance activities of the Council as well as either project managing or providing technical advice and assistance onon capital projects. 

Alongside the management responsibilities the post holder will be responsible for overseeing the Housing Asset Strategy Review currently underway as well as contributing to the asset strategy of ther substantial portfolio of general fund properties.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Contributing on an on-going basis to the efficiency and strategic, tactical and operational management of the Housing Services senior management team.  Taking the lead by demonstrating personal responsibility and modelling expected leadership behaviour and competencies that reflects the organisations’ culture and ambition. 

* Engage and partner with and be the main client function to the internal DLO, the main supplier of maintenance and construction works

* Comply with all legal and financial obligations relevant to the service areas; carrying out risk assessments and introducing risk management measures as appropriate including management of the dedicated Property Service and health & safety team.

* Inspire and lead a diverse team to deliver high quality customer services through stimulating and managing change and continuous improvement activities in support of service objectives.
 
REQUIREMENTS

* Demonstrable experience in a senior leadership position and integration and transformation of services to ensure efficient delivery

* Project management - Experience in managing complex construction projects. Demonstrating strong influencing and decision making skills and the ability to assimilate complex information to deliver key objectives. 

* Experience in undertaking asset reviews and setting strategic asset strategies

* Up-to-date working knowledge of current Health and Safety compliance and practice, demonstrating leadership of safety team and delivery of service and council objectives in this key area.
