Join a top performing team and help us to remain financially strong

Irwell valley homes is a leading housing provider in Greater Manchester with a dynamic culture and dedicated colleagues. Our new Board member will be joining us at a perfect time – as we received the highest grading for governance and financial viability from the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) in June 2019.  This G1-V1 status shows that we continue to be financially strong, are well managed and have the capacity to deliver our corporate plan - including an exciting development programme of over 1,250 new homes over the next five years!

Ideally we are looking for someone with development & finance expertise to support us in the delivery of this strategy.

Our combination of a clear strategy, strong financial management and outstanding performance enables us to deliver services to customers, improve our homes and neighbourhoods and retain the top grade for governance and financial viability from the regulator of social housing.

We need a new Board member to join our team who will take responsibility for helping us to achieve our ambitious plans for growth and delivering value for money. We are looking for either an experienced finance professional, or a development professional, from the housing sector. Someone who will take pride in helping us to achieve our corporate priorities and maintaining our excellent track record in governance and financial viability.

So, if you:

·  have sound financial management skills and experience

·  understand development within the social housing sector

·  can operate at a strategic level

·  can establish collaborative relationships

·  are passionate and committed about promoting equality, diversity and inclusion

·  have the drive and passion to help take our organisation forward.

We’d love you to join our Board and help us to make a difference!

Company

Irwell Valley is a leading multi-award winning not-for-profit housing association providing housing and management services to over 7,000 homes and 17,000 customers across Greater Manchester.

We provide high quality homes to a wide variety of people, with a broad range of needs and incomes.

We rent to customers on low incomes and also provide market rent accommodation.

We believe that our customers should take responsibility for their actions and the actions of their families. At the heart of our vision is Diamond Service, which promises that our best customers get the best homes and services. It rewards positive, loyal behaviour with exceptional rewards and benefits and actively discourages negative practices such as intentional non-payment of rent and anti-social behaviour.

Our 5 Zeros are at the heart of what we do. These are:

  • Zero rent arrears
  • Zero relet days
  • Zero unnecessary repairs
  • Zero customer dissatisfaction
  • Zero colleague sickness

We aim to maximise resident satisfaction, while at the same time growing our business responsibly. We actively encourage customers to be involved in the running of the organisation and to provide us with feedback on our services and polices.

We are also involved in long term, sustainable neighbourhood regeneration and focus on projects that increase employability and well being, provide positive futures for all our residents, promote financial inclusion and strengthen communities.

We aim to be the best organisation to work for, which is recognised by our many awards. We currently employ over 170 colleagues who are committed to creating fantastic places to live. In return for that commitment, we offer a range of excellent work related benefits.

In short, our mission is 'to create the conditions in which customers and colleagues can enjoy living and working and realise their full potential.'
