This role

The Associate Finance Business Partner will assist in the provision of decision support, management and financial accounting services to the business. The role will act as a link between finance and each area of the business, ensuring a strong financial discipline is in place across each function. It will ensure that financial and procurement regulations are followed, and that the financial regulations are known and understood across the business

  • Support the Finance Business Partners in providing financial analysis and advice in a timely, user-friendly format that enables them to understand financial performance to date and implications for the future.

  • Supporting the Finance Business Partners in the decision-making processes. Enabling them to provide financially informed business decisions in full understanding of the risks and opportunities.

  • Assist the Finance Business Partners in challenging the Functional Directors to ensure they are maximising efficiencies and financial performance enabling them to deliver the financial elements of the strategy

  • Identify key trends and issues affecting financial performance, ensuring budgets and business plans reflect the intended activities.

  • Identify opportunities for income generation, improvements to promote efficient working practices and potential cost saving initiatives.

  • Provide support to the Finance Business Partners in the creation of business plans and budgets. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Work on the preparation of the annual budget. Providing analysis to FBPs to focus their review and challenge of the data.

  • Support FBPs in preparation of a complete monthly accounts and budget packs (data, narrative, gap analysis, risks and opportunities) through provision of financial analysis and supporting information.

  • Monitoring progress against actions plans to deliver on key initiatives.

  • Preparing and distributing a monthly report for each area supported. This will include providing analysis of financial performance and key business drivers.

  • Conducting regular meetings with operational managers to review accounts and financial analyses.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Be Part qualified (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or CPA) or qualified by experience

  • An excellent communicator across a wide range of audiences, presenting financial information in a user-friendly manner

  • A strong commitment to customer service and overall service excellence

  • An understanding of financial management within the housing / property sectors

  • Advanced IT literacy

  • An affinity with the work of the social housing sector

  • Experience of management accounts/budgeting/forecasting
