Role information

Southern Housing Group is recruiting to a key post in its growing New Business Land Team in Horsham.

To deliver 10,000 new affordable homes in 10 years, with 6,000 in the South Region, stretching from Reading to Brighton and east to Kent, we are developing a land led strategy - with the financial resources to deliver. This is supported by our Strategic Partnership with Homes England outside London for circa 1,000 affordable homes to start on site by March 2022.

We are recruiting a Land & Planning Manager to buy land with or without planning consent and lead on major planning applications on Greenfield and town centre sites.

Led by the Senior Land Manager, the team secures land acquisition on a range of exciting sites in our key target areas from urban extensions to Greenfield sites and negotiates directly with landowners, agents and house builders and contractors, with support from the Delivery Team. A strong commercial understanding of the land market is a core skill.

Who we’re looking for

An experienced planning professional with RTPI qualification and minimum 2 years PQE who wishes to move client side and engage directly in the land market and shape and promote schemes through planning from concept and feasibility to full planning consent.
