This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Housing Advice Officer to join our Housing Advice team. Working with the Homelessness Prevention Manager, you will oversee the work of the Housing Advice team to ensure the delivery of a proactive homelessness prevention and reactive housing advice service. You will be expected to empower, motivate and develop team members to deliver an excellent service to customers through the day-to-day management of the service, including Housing Officers and outreach HERO Officers.
Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills are necessary to carry out the Council's statutory duties to customers who are at risk of homelessness, therefore, you must have an excellent understanding of assessing homeless applications and issuing key decisions under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended).
We are seeking a motivated and innovative person, with good attention to detail, who can work proactively with customers and partners to find creative housing solutions to prevent and relieve homelessness.
Sevenoaks District Council is recognised as one of the best places to work in the UK, having recently retained our Platinum accreditation under Investors in People. We are the only financially self-sufficient Council in the country and have an ambitious agenda to do more for our communities.
If you are passionate about helping people to find affordable homes and delivering excellent customer experiences, then we would love you hear from you.
