The Role

The Legal Services (Operations) Team is a high achieving in house legal team providing the Group's operational departments with housing management and litigation services. As an entrepreneurial department and team, we are constantly looking at how we can add value and improve the services provided to A2Dominion - and so the next stage of team's development is to bring in house transactional property work to the team.

The In House Lawyer/Conveyancer - Team Manager - transactions will have both supervisory and delivery responsibilities and be expected to manage both a caseload of transactional and general property matters for the internal client group, all the while ensuring compliance with SRA and Money Laundering requirements. As this is a new role once volumes have been gauged, you will recruit a team (if necessary) to assist you in delivering the general property and transactional services. The team could consist of a conveyancer, a conveyancing administrator, plus a trainee on rotation and on occasion paralegals (the Team already have paralegals and trainees). You will need to deliver the departmental vision and ensure that the team is adhering to its service level agreement. In terms, of delivery, you will have sound judgement and deliver excellent legal advice and transactional work in matters such as staircasing, lease extensions, collective enfranchisement, right to manage, approvals and consents and resales to name a few, and be comfortable in advising the Group in respect of policy and procedure where required. There may also be some commercial property work.

You will be a qualified lawyer/conveyancer with a right to practice in England and Wales, have experience of conveyancing (preferably from a landlord/developer's perspective) and be financially literate. This role has supervisory responsibility (as standard for our solicitors in terms of work allocated to junior staff) as well as line management responsibilities, so we are looking for a solicitor with previous line management experience.
