We are looking for:

This is an opportunity to join The Residential Financier of the Year - Homes England’s investment division is an increasingly important player in the field of residential development finance.  You will be working with The Home Building Fund, a debt fund of £4.5bn.

The role will be within a small dynamic team of property / lending professionals based in either Coventry or Liverpool.  We are looking for someone from a banking, property or surveying background who must be energetic and have a positive and commercial outlook. They will need the ability to network within their local market and originate, analyse and transact deals.

Our successful candidate will:

The post holder must develop and maintain good working relationships with a range of key partners including, property developers, house-builders and the local professional community.  In addition, the post holder should build strong links with internal stakeholders, sharing knowledge, skills and experience with colleagues across the agency.

The main duties include:

Building on the Homes England presence within the region.

Seeking out and building relationships with SME housebuilders who have aspirations for growth.

Assessing the viability of residential development schemes, understanding and mitigating the risks, and preparing analysis.

Working with external advisors to analyse property, legal and commercial diligence.

Writing credit reports and working with colleagues in risk to deliver appropriate funding lines.

Negotiating deal structure and documentation.

Managing multiple stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.

The skills we would like are:

Experience in a business development or origination role.

Direct experience in scoping, structuring, pricing and assessing financing projects and negotiating related contracts.

Experience in assessing the funding structures that potential borrowers are contemplating to mitigate any financial risk for the lender.

Familiarity with professional property reports, valuation methodologies and practices and the ability to challenge where required.

Strong negotiation skills.

The ability to work under own direction and as part of a small team.
