Senior Home Ownership Officer

Location: Hemel Hempstead

£32,688 pa

Key Responsibilities:

  • To manage Retirement Scheme Managers and a Caretaker based at individual Schemes. Undertaking regular supervision and annual appraisal in line with the Association`s staff management practices
  • Ensure staff receive appropriate training
  • Have a sound knowledge of the legislation relating to leasehold tenure and service charges, and the lease agreements the Association has with its leaseholders
  • Be proactive in seeking improvements in the Association`s service delivery for the benefit of our service users; taking part in resident involvement activities
  • To advise customers and process applications for Right to Acquire, Right to Buy, Shared Ownership Staircasing and other available home ownership options
  • Work with the Home Ownership Manager to manage Commercial Properties owned by the Association, including timely invoicing and collection of rent and service charges
  • Provide advice and guidance to leaseholders and shared owners wishing to extend their lease
  • Provide advice and guidance on statutory sales schemes such as Right to Acquire and Right to Buy and process any applications
  • Estate inspections and monitoring the services provided to residents
  • Attendance at resident involvement opportunities

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of landlord and tenant law, law relating to leaseholders
  • Numerate and accurate with figures
  • Computer literate
  • A clear communicator both orally and in writing
  • Able to use own initiative in dealing with a wide variety of people
  • Have experience in Housing Management and service charge/rent arrears recovery
  • Have staff management experience
  • Car owner and qualified driver
