Job Details

We’re looking for a customer-focused individual with energy, experience and a strong sense of purpose to join us as an Estate Services Senior Caretaker (Support Officer).

The UK has a housing problem. This affects every one of us, because housing is the foundation of the society we live in. Catalyst is part of the solution. You could be too. One of the UK’s leading housing associations, Catalyst is here to make a purposeful difference by providing housing solutions for those who can’t afford a home without our help. We offer a wide range of homes, for rent, part ownership or purchase. By doing so, we build more than homes – we build communities. We're at a particularly exciting point in our story, having recently merged with another large housing association, Aldwyck. The merger makes us stronger and more able to deliver our social purpose - in every part of our organisation.  We’re always seeking to do better. If you are too, read on.

Day-to-day, you’ll work as part of a team within a designated patch on a programme of periodic cleaning tasks. You’ll also see that our serviced estates and blocks are clean, tidy and graffiti and litter free. Helping to identify and implement estate improvement programmes comes with the territory too, as does carrying out health & safety checks and keeping accurate records. And, when it comes to reporting on repairs that need doing or identifying possible solutions to ongoing problems like fly tipping, again, we’ll rely on you to deliver. In short, you’ll do all you can to help ensure we keep our customers happy.

You are passionate about delivering excellent customer experience every time, by being easy, reliable and empathetic in the way you deal with customers and colleagues. To succeed, you’ll need to be committed to first class estate cleanliness and physically able to carry out strenuous manual work, often in adverse weather conditions. You’ll also need to have mentored and trained colleagues to deliver a high performance caretaking service. Self-motivated, flexible and personable, you’re proactive and professional too. What's more, you’re great at organising a workload and enjoy being part of a friendly, but committed team. The role comes with an allocated company vehicle, so a full driving license is essential. You should also be willing to provide holiday and sickness cover for colleagues and occasionally deal with out of hours emergencies.

We’re a Sunday Times top 100 Best Company to Work for. We invest a lot of time and resources in our people because we know it’s our people who will drive our success. If you’d like to join us, and help make a real difference, please get in touch.

The role is subject to a basic DBS check.
