We are looking for:

This is a fixed term contract for a Customer Due Diligence(CDD) Manager to join a small professional team and provide support to the Senior Manager to ensure that comprehensive Know Your Customer(KYC)/CDD checks of new customers across Homes England Affordable Housing business, but in particular the Community Housing Fund, are completed in a timely manner and in line with legal and regulatory requirements. The Community Housing Fund has been put in place by the Government to support an increase in housing supply in England by increasing the number of additional homes delivered by the community-led housing sector.

The job holder will gain exposure to a wide range of organisations within the Affordable Housing Sector, and will benefit from interesting work, professional development (including initial training) and a dynamic working environment.

Our successful candidate will:

Be responsible for taking a risk based approach for KYC/CDD checks on organisations applying for funding under the Community Housing Fund. They will advise the Affordable Housing Team with identifying the required identification information on all new clients and risk rate them based on geography, industry/occupation, product, political status, and reputational risk and ensuring that this information is refreshed at regular intervals in line with customer risk rating requirements.

They will review and assess all documentation provided to ensure that it complies with Homes England KYC policies and procedures and feed into the development and maintenance of these policies and procedures to ensure that they are updated where necessary and reflect current legal and regulatory requirements. They will raise the profile of KYC/CDD related risks, issues and controls by building relationships with key business stakeholders and provide advice and assistance in relation to practical application of KYC/CDD procedures and processes.

The skills we would like are:

Essential: Degree level qualification or equivalent experience of working in a regulated environment, including KYC/CDD and Enhanced Due Diligence experience, risk management and managing KYC/CDD related processes and procedures. Working knowledge of PEP and sanctions risks and how to mitigate these. A high level of professional competence which helps determine solutions around appropriate risk measures, risk processes, risk monitoring and management with the ability to assess risk trends both internally and externally.

Self-starter capable of working with often manual KYC/CDD processes and controls; sufficient IT awareness to assist with the design and implementation of more automated processes and controls in future.

Collaborator and a strong communicator able to work closely and build effective relationships with the Affordable Housing Team and the rest of the CDD team.

Desirable: Professional Compliance qualifications/ memberships and a knowledge of the UK housing market especially new build, rented and affordable segment.
