Care & Support Worker

This is a unique opportunity for a support worker that is passionate about creating a positive environment for vulnerable adults in a step down service. Our customers have complex forensic mental health issues and require a level of advice and support that will help them ultimately achieve independent living.There will be a requirement on occasion to support 3 customers at a local service and requires lone work, but with full support from an experienced manager.
You are the customer’s key contact and your interaction will positively affect their wellbeing and involvement in the community.You will be looked to to encourage them to have social involvement and undertake daily activities.
You will need to be prepared to be flexible and work a 24 / 7 rota. These are Day – 8am to 4pm, Late – 2pm to 10pm Plus a sleep in approximately once per week which 4pm to 11pm s/in 7.30am to 3.30pm.Additional payments are made for sleep ins
What you`ll need to succeed
As this is a lone working role experience in a similar role is essential and any experience of supporting vulnerable adults with mental ill health would be an advantage. Key is your ability to listen to others and motivate others.
You also need to be able to demonstrate a passion to deliver excellent service to vulnerable adults in a dignified manner. You will need to be able to work independently and have the confidence to deal with customers that may act in an unpredictable manner.
