We're looking for people who are passionate about giving residents a voice at Optivo. The role, along with our Resident Governance Officer roles, supports our resident governance structure, enabling residents to influence, scrutinise and improve the business. 

You'll be responsible for: 

  • Managing three Resident Governance Officers and an Assistant, across our four regions
  • Leading on supporting two resident governance groups in a region, plus the Resident Strategy Group
  • Providing individual support to resident governance members, to carry out their roles
  • Supervising delivery of support provided to all resident governance groups
  • Managing succession planning for the resident governance structure
  • Facilitating and delivering resident training sessions
  • Ensuring all members comply with relevant resident governance policies and regulatory requirements
  • Overseeing spend against the resident governance budget.

You'll work with a range of residents, colleagues and external partners, so a positive approach to team working is essential. We're looking for someone with the following skills / experience: 

  • Experience of working in a governance or resident scrutiny support role
  • Experience of facilitating meetings, e.g. minute taking and report writing skills
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • An understanding of different customers' needs and working in an inclusive way.

Desirable: line management experience, although we're happy to offer full support to anyone looking to take on their first line management role, if they can demonstrate skills relatable to line management.

There are four resident governance posts: three Officers and one Senior Officer. Of the four positions, one person is based in each of our four regions - Kent (Sittingbourne), Midlands (Northampton), Sussex (Battle) and London (Croydon). Travel will be a requirement of this role, to support the resident governance staff in other regions.

We offer flexible working hours as part of this role and there’s a requirement to work occasional evenings.
