Salary - £70,000 P/A

Responsible to: Executive Director (Assets & Growth)

Responsible for: 

  • Senior Development & Regeneration Manager 
  • x 2 Development & Regeneration Managers
  • Sales & Marketing Manager 

The Role:

  • To lead and manage the Associations development and sales teams in providing low cost affordable housing for sale and rent.
  • Optimise the Association growth in accordance with the strategy as set by the board and delivery plans agreed the executive board. Focusing on quality, cost and programme delivery as key deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with Homes England, Local Authorities, developers, house builders, stakeholders and consultants whom the Associations works with on the development of new housing.
  • You will be a partner with services across the business to help delivery the objectives of the Association and maintain our focus for on excellent services for our customers.

Job Details:

  • You will be building and maintaining excellent partnership with local authorities, Homes England and house builders to ensure that the Association is seen as the development partner or choice.
  • You will maximise opportunities, through your knowledge of the market for the development of home in the boroughs in which we operate
  • You will develop and implement the business’s regeneration, development and sales & marketing plans
  • The business has opportunities within its stock to undertake regeneration, you will work with the executive director (assets & growth) to identify opportunities and where appropriate take them forward with the New Homes & Regeneration team
  • You will appoint and manage consultants and contractors to minimise the risk and achieve effective programme delivery to cost and quality matrices.
  • You will recruit, manage, coach and support the sales & marketing team
  • You will ensure performance and compliance, against agreed standards, measures and targets, across the service (including defects); and fully participate in the co-ordination of business assurance reporting to the board
  • You will be working closely with colleagues in asset management, repairs and customer relations on the successful management of new homes as they come into the business
  • You will ensure that customer relationships are managed effectively and in collaboration with all the directorates in the association
  • You will work effectively within their governance structures, reporting on occasion to the  board, committees, and executive board; and to play a significant role in joint working with the customer partnership board

Skills and experiences:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the operating environment in which Housing Association work.
  • Experience of managing and developing teams
  • Knowledge of the development and constructions process in the development of affordable housing, both properties for development and sale
  • Understand how to do scheme appraisals, grant claims, cash flow forecasts and monitoring and the financial controls of large programmes
  • Knowledge of legislation and regulation relating to development, with particular reference to Homes England standards
  • Experience of developing effective partnerships
  • Enjoys a challenge, flexible to the changing requirements of the business and is able to demonstrate continuous delivery in the delivery of the service.
