Job Details

About us

MTVH is one of the UK’s leading housing associations. In the midst of a deepening housing crisis and volatile political and economic landscape, we are a robust and innovative organisation with our roots in community. We have to keep delivering new homes and services residents trust, despite the uncertainty. Our vision is to give everyone a home, and the opportunity to live well. The Communications Team sits at the core of delivering this; great stories have the power to connect us, to raise awareness and to influence how people feel and act. We place the stories of our customers and communities at the heart of what we do, and they play a huge role in helping us achieve our ambitions.

We have an exciting opportunity for two dynamic and talented individuals to join our creative content team. These roles come with huge opportunity to harness the power of imaginative storytelling and persuasive writing.

Working within a highly collaborative team, you’ll be hands-on delivering and driving bold and innovative content to engage and inspire a range of audiences.

The role is key in bringing our brand to life and making sure our communications are effective. You may be writing and creating content yourself, giving clear direction to external agencies, or making sure the work of colleagues is innovative and on-brand.

Person Specification

You need to play well with others; ours is a team with relationships across the business and beyond. However, you’ll also need the confidence to work and make decisions independently, advising colleagues and agencies on the best way to communicate, spotting opportunities we can leverage and contributing ideas at planning meetings.

‘Content’ for us is a broad church. Primarily you need to understand messaging, tone of voice and how to communicate with a variety of audiences. Therefore, strong copywriting skills are a must. If you can also graphic design or pick up a camera, that’s fantastic. If not, we’ll train you, but you’ll need to be comfortable commissioning and managing the production of media projects from agencies and freelancers.

Additional benefits

In addition to generous holiday entitlement we provide:

  • A matched contribution pension scheme

  • Life assurance

  • Enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption leave

  • Salary sacrifice schemes and season ticket loans

  • Voluntary benefits including cash back and discounts from high street names

  • A commitment to flexible and agile working

Company

Welcome to MTVH!

Our organisation was built on a simple mission – to give people a safe, secure, and affordable home. That is as true today as it was in the 1950’s, when our founder Molly Huggins established on organisation to provide homes for Windrush migrants in London. Our core purpose I that “everyone should have a home and the chance to live well” To fulfil this vision, we work with partners to make our neighbourhoods – new and old - sustainable and vibrant places, where our customers want to live. We put people at the heart of everything we do and to guide is in every decision we make. Through managing more than 57,000 households we work at a scale that means our actions to achieve this have real impact.

We firmly believe that by serving people better every day, we will support a healthier, better cared for, and more prosperous society in the future. Like our founders before us, we will leave a lasting legacy for future generations. Our colleagues are crucial to our success in achieving this. Therefore, we are committed to investing in colleagues and creating the opportunity for them to develop. Our working environment has been designed to be one that brings out the very best in people.

We are a member of the National Housing Federation and the g15, which represents London’s 15 largest housing associations and houses one in 10 Londoners (www.g15london.org.uk).

We also offer a wide range of benefits:-

  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • In addition to annual leave a 'belief day' to be taken at a time of your choosing
  • 2 paid voluntary days to support your community
  • Smarter working is the MTVH approach to future working arrangements for colleagues registered as office-based to adapt to the needs of the customer.
  • Life assurance cover 3 x your salary
  • Health cash plan scheme for your everyday healthcare needs
  • Enhanced pension with matched contributions up to a maximum of 9% contribution
  • Tenancy deposit – interest free loan to help with rental deposits
  • Cycle to Work scheme
