Salary: £4,500 per annum
About Us
At Habinteg, inclusion drives all that we do, be that our engagement with staff, the services we offer to tenants, the environments we create, and the homes we deliver. One in four people in the UK are disabled but most homes are designed to exclude them. We believe in designing homes and creating neighbourhoods that everyone can share and enjoy. We have 3350 homes across the country from Tyneside to Cornwall. We are the co-creators and champions of the Lifetime Homes Standard, sponsors of the Wheelchair Housing Design Guide, and we provide expert training and consultancy through our Centre for Accessible Environments (CAE) in-house team.
Board Member and Chair Designate Appointments & Remuneration Committee
The Chair of our Appointments & Remuneration Committee is due to stand down next year. We are seeking to appoint a candidate with senior level strategic HR or organisational development experience to join the board and this committee. The successful candidate will step into the role of Chair when the current incumbent steps down. After assuming the position of chair, remuneration will increase to £5,500 per annum to reflect the inherent responsibilities of the role.
Board Member
Our policy and campaigning make us unique in the social housing sector. We are known as the lead provider and advocate of accessible homes. This requires us to be at the forefront of the social policy agenda to set out what is needed now and into the future. We are seeking a candidate with a strong campaigning, influencing or advocacy background. Some experience of media, PR or marketing would be a bonus. We would particularly encourage applications from disabled people as there is no stronger voice than the voice of experience
About you
You will offer non-executive director experience, with strategic foresight, strong business acumen, with accomplished people skills, and enthusiasm for shaping our future. You will have the ability to engage with our key stakeholders and be an effective ambassador for Habinteg.
We strive to maintain an inclusive board. Currently women and young people (under 40) are under-represented. We would welcome applications from these groups.
