About the Role

We currently have a new opportunity in our Software Development team. We are seeking applicants with a wide range of skills, from beginners to experienced professionals. The role is based at Hightown House, our Head Office on Maylands Avenue, Hemel Hempstead.

About You

Depending on your experience and skill level, you will have had an appropriate level of exposure to the following essential areas:

  • SQL Server 2012+

T-SQL: Stored Procedures, Views, Functions

Debugging

Performance Tuning

Profiler traces

  • C# 3.5+ (VB.net would also be considered)

Writing applications from scratch

Debugging your code, as well as code written by others

  • SSRS 2012+

Report design

Data-Driven Subscriptions

  • Web development (ASP.net, MVC, MVVM, HTML5, etc)
  • Office 2010+

Excellent level of knowledge as a standard user of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

Experience automating tasks using VBA or VSTO

 

It would be advantageous if you have any additional skills or experience in the following:

  • WPF
  • SSIS, SSAS, Data Warehousing
  • SQL Server CLR .NET projects SQL Server DBA
  • Android mobile app development
  • Any other RDBMS systems (Oracle, MySQL, Sybase, etc)
  • XML
  • Agile development
  • Any other programming languages

You can expect to work with the following tools & technologies on a daily basis:

  • Visual Studio 2017
  • SQL Server Management Studio
  • C# 3.5+
  • SQL Server 2012+, SSRS
  • Office 2016
  • TFS & SVN

You will be expected to:

  • Use your skills to develop fast, efficient and robust software solutions for internal clients
  • Fully comment and document your code and produce user manuals as required
  • Debug code written by yourself and others
  • Contribute to the team efforts of gathering requirements, specifying, designing and planning
  • Work closely with internal clients at all levels at all stages of development
