Tandridge District Council is looking for an enthusiastic, creative, problem solver to join our specialist Housing Development team that oversees the delivery of the Council’s expanding new homes programme.

The team delivers new homes directly and through our housing company, taking projects from inception to completion. We also work with the Council’s planning department, registered providers, and developers to help deliver a wider programme of affordable housing. The work of the team is vital in meeting the housing needs of the district, an area where a high proportion of residents cannot afford to rent or buy homes in the private market.

To succeed, you will need to have housing development experience, as well as a strong track record in project management. You will have excellent communication skills, be a good organiser, have an eye for detail, and the ability to use initiative and creativity to solve challenging problems. You will have experience of construction and construction contracts, undertaking financial viability appraisals, the submission of planning applications, tendering, land sales and acquisitions, and resident communication. There will be many times when you’ll need to work under pressure, manage competing priorities to meet tight deadlines; but you’ll have the right attitude to take this on and ensure success.

This appointment will be made at grade M3 to M4 dependent upon experience and therefore applicants must demonstrate that they meet the criteria of the role at the minimum of M3 level as described in the Role Specification.

It’s an exciting time to join the team at Tandridge District Council. We have just completed an ambitious transformation project, changing the way we work and using the best technology to deliver services in a way our customers find easy to use.

If this is you, and you want to be part of our dynamic team, then we want to hear from you.

In return we’ll offer you a lively and supportive environment, with the opportunity to learn new skills, whilst transforming the lives of people in housing need in our District.

We have flexible working arrangements and welcome suitable applicants who can work between 26-37 hours per week.
