You’ll ensure this ambition becomes reality – Working with district and boroughs to ensure that social care accommodation needs are reflected within local plans, and leading negotiations with the external market of providers and developers.

As a strategic leader, your outstanding communication skills will secure buy in from all relevant parties, facilitating innovation and promoting best practice across all programme areas. Your knowledge of social care accommodation, and experience of delivering a wide range of programs, will secure the best outcomes for the council and Leicestershire residents.

Key responsibilities:

• Leadership and direction of the team to deliver the accommodation plan.
• Ensure that accommodation is utilised in all our schemes, working proactively to bring practice in terms of care, funding and development.
• Plan, prepare and deliver budgets, business cases and financial models for the accommodation plan.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with care providers, housing associations, district councils and developers.
• Maintain and improve levels of service provision, quality, accommodation and safeguarding within our schemes.
• Regularly review contractual arrangements, frameworks and service level agreements to ensure legislative compliance and maintain an optimum commercial position.

The ideal candidate:

• Proven senior management experience in a social care or property development environment.
• Demonstrable evidence of developing new commercial initiatives and successfully delivering wide ranging programmes.
• Previous experience of marketing and business development.
• Adaptable, with an innovative and positive approach.
• Effective communication skills including an ability to negotiate, persuade and influence key stakeholders at all levels.
• Self-motivated and able to plan, organise and coordinate large volumes of work

What you'll get in return:

Working at Leicestershire County Council, you can expect to receive a variety of benefits including a generous annual leave allowance, the option to buy additional annual leave, and membership of the national Local Government Pension Scheme.

We also offer employee discounts on products and retailers, a cycle to work scheme, and free access to a wellbeing service including professional counselling.
