Job Title: Legal Executive (Litigation)

Type of Contract: Permanent

Hours: 36 hours a week, Full time

Salary: £38,691 (dependent on experience)

Job Brief

To provide high quality legal advice on routine/standard litigation related matters in particular housing management and landlord & tenant contentious matters to Optivo and its Group partners. To draft legal proceedings, witness statements and pleadings from precedents as instructed. To assist the Litigation Lawyers with more complex contentious matters. To assist in the provision of effective training as required on a variety of housing law issues to colleagues.

Knowledge

  • Law degree, Chartered legal executive status or a CILEx Level 6 Certificate in Litigation or equivalent
  • Experience of undertaking or assisting with housing management litigation casework, particularly for housing associations or other public sector bodies.
  • Experience of working in a legal environment (solicitors practice or legal department)

Relationship

Develops and maintains relationships inside and /or outside the organisation in order to get things done, particularly with the Housing Services Neighbourhoods and Asset Management and Asset Services Teams.

  • Conveys confidence in own ability, decisions and actions and takes personal responsibility for the consequences.
