At St Mungo’s our vision is that everyone has a place to call home and can fulfil their hopes and ambitions.  As a homelessness charity and housing association our clients are at the heart of what we do. We provide bed and support to more than 3,000 people a night who are either homeless or at risk, and work to end homelessness and rebuild lives.

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our Rents Service Team and contribute to:

- Providing an excellent income collection service

- Maximising incomes and collection and Minimising debt levels

- Supporting the needs of vulnerable tenants

 You will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring efficient administration of the rent account system  
  • Effectively managing the income collection service in order to maximise income
  • Managing a team of 3 and overseeing the provision of excellent customer service

To succeed, you will have demonstrable experience in:

  • Experience of managing staff (including individual supervision, team meetings, performance management and appraisal, training & development, and staff conducts) with a recovery focussed approach and the ability to work with vulnerable, homeless or disadvantaged people
  • A high level of numeracy and the ability to produce accurate financial reports; collate and interpret financial and statistical information, and set up and maintain information systems
  • Understanding of staff management issues
  • Knowledge of working with performance indicators, including monitoring and reporting on service outputs/outcomes, analysing performance information, and identifying corrective action

You will have experience of income management and delivering a professional and effective Rental Income service. Providing excellent customer service as well as building and maintaining effective internal and external partnerships, is also required. This is a varied and fast-paced role which will see the successful candidate using their initiative and problem solving skills to positively impact the lives of our tenants and empower them to progress.
