Due to exciting growth plans our client now requires a Development Project Manager to join their development team in Cambridgeshire. If you have previous experience as a Project Manager, Development Officer or Development Project Manager for a RP or Local Authority then we want to hear from you.

Our client is an established housing provider, providing both affordable housing and supported housing across the East of England. The organisation currently employs over 250 people, provides accommodation for over 45,000 residents and plans to deliver over 1000 new homes over the next 5 years. As Development Project Manager you will report to the Development Manager and will supervise the procurement and construction of all developments.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Liaise with contractors, employer’s agents and consultants to maintain high quality of work
  • Delivery of schemes including attending site meetings pre, post and during construction
  • Assist with project and programme management updates and monitoring reports
  • Tender and appoint consultants and contractors
  • Procurement of all development schemes
  • Work with the employer’s agent to provide clear client-side instructions or change requests
  • Regularly carry out site inspections to monitor construction progress
  • Monitor health and safety on site and report actions to the employer’s agent as required
  • Assist with monthly project dashboard and project cash flow updates via SDS Pro Val and SDS Sequel
  • With the Clerk of Works, co-ordinate the handover and snagging process
  • Provide site and construction information to the Group Sales and Marketing Team
  • Co-ordinate and oversee internal stakeholder liaison
  • Provide a programme for viewings, hand-over, sign-ups and on-going asset management
  • Arrange and carry out end of defects inspections with the resident and contractor
  • Review specification pre and post construction and any on-going amendments
  • Assist in the production of post-handover scheme review papers
  • Assist with the appraisal/viability of projects using pre-approved financial hurdle assumptions
  • Manage schemes in accordance with the Homes England and the Group’s development policies and procedures

Required Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Development Project Manager, Project Manager, Development Officer for an RP or Local Authority
  • A comprehensive knowledge of traditional and modern construction methods
  • Good general knowledge of construction and building maintenance
  • Ability to read, interpret, and review drawings and project specifications and contracts
  • Experience of monitoring and assessing construction work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Commercial awareness
  • Recognised qualifications in Project Management, Planning, Surveying, Architecture or Construction would be highly desirable
