Project Worker

Sudbury

Full Time, 39 hours a week

£18,252 - £19,738 per annum (dependent on experience)

Do you have a passion to support homeless vulnerable people living in supported housing?

Notting Hill Genesis is one of the largest providers of housing related support to single homeless people within Suffolk. The aim of our services is to ensure our customers achieve their goals and aspirations through the support, encouragement and guidance of our staff.

Located across two of our young people's schemes in Sudbury, the primary focus of the Project Worker is to deliver person centred services and support clients in a range of areas, including finding employment, recovery from addiction, and building stability through a range of social activities. These schemes are accommodation based environments supporting homeless young people between the ages of 16-21 who may have experienced drug, alcohol, substance misuse problems, and/or have varying support needs.
A successful outcome is achieved when our customers can move on to more suitable long-term accommodation, appropriate to their needs.

You will be required to lone work and use your own initiative so you'll need to be strong willed and confident as you will be supporting customers that can display challenging behaviour. We want to find motivational individuals that have a genuine interest working with vulnerable people.

Experience

Our Project Workers are employed at two levels:

Entry level - Experience / knowledge associated with addiction, substance misuse and/ or homelessness would be a big advantage. We are also looking for inspirational people who will seize the potential of making a difference in people's lives.
Salary offered for this level will be the lower end of £18,252

Advanced level - Knowledge of Housing and of the range of benefits available are essential for a level 2 Project worker. You must also have 1 year+ experience working in similar supported accommodation settings with a proven track record that demonstrates both your skill and resilience in the role.
Previous experience in working in young people's services would also be suitable for this role.
Salary offered for this level will be the higher end of £19,738

All applicants must have strong written and verbal skills. Good IT skills are also essential as a large amount of work is done on the computer, including database management, e-mail communications and spread sheets.

Hours will be 39 hours a week, over a rota basis on a 3 week rolling rota. You will be required to work 1 weekend in every 3 and typical working hours are between 8am and 7pm, however these hours may change to suit business needs.
