We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a 'can do' attitude to join the Temporary Accommodation Reduction team within the Housing Options Service.

With a passion for excellent customer service, you will ensure that the customer experience is enhanced and tailored to the needs of our more vulnerable customers.
Barnet Homes' Housing Options Service is a key frontline service providing housing and homelessness advice in one of the most popular areas in London.

A key objective of the Housing Options Service is to source and retain good quality private sector and temporary accommodation, to meet the needs of homeless applicants. 

As a Visiting Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring our clients are living at the accommodation provided by Housing Options Service, ensuring the emergency accommodation properties meet the Health and Safety requirements. You will ensure the Accommodation Providers deliver good quality service to our clients.

You will be working towards reducing the number of households living in temporary accommodation. You will support the homelessness prevention initiatives, including undertaking mediation, and the assessment of the suitability of accommodation from which clients' approach. You will provide a high-quality front-line service to the public and ensure the recording and maintenance of accurate case notes on our information systems.

We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills, who is able to engage with a range of audiences including vulnerable customers, landlords and other agencies. An individual with attention to detail, and the ability to resolve difficult and confrontational situations.
