We are recruiting for experienced Application Specialists to join our dynamic, ever changing large enterprise within our Technology department.  In this role you will take responsibility for the analysis and development of our IT system improvements and support services; ensuring that best practice is applied to system support, upgrades, testing and procedures and to support internal transformation projects across our applications.

 

The role of Application Specialist will include:

  • Assisting with the integration of new and existing IT application services to meet the future needs of the Group
  • Ensuring effective appraisal of new technologies and the suitability in meeting Group needs, including scalability and performance
  • Maintaining, upgrading and monitoring large business applications
  • Supporting the IT Service Desk to identify and rectify immediate and longer term customer requirements using problem management processes, to meet and exceed service standards
  • Ensuring IT systems are secure and robust, maximising system availability to business users across the Group

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Proven experience of supporting the management of Application infrastructure gained in a large, complex environment
  • Skilled in working with large business applications and data management systems, including configuration (Finance, Property/Asset Management, HR, reporting)
  • Experience of server based database environments, including reporting such as Oracle, SQL, Unix, Crystal Report and Business Objects
  • Experience of undertaking systems analysis, identifying and implementing business process improvements
  • A background in providing technical support and resolving customer queries, in line with service levels
  • Strong planning, organisational and communication skills with the ability to adapt style and language depending on the audience
