Housing for Women is looking for an enthusiastic & versatile Surveyor to join its Asset Management Team. Reporting into the Head of Repairs, you will be responsible for carrying out site visits to diagnose and specify responsive and void property repairs. In addition, this role works closely with the Director of Asset Management in supporting the delivery of the planned maintenance programme e.g. cyclical decorations & kitchen installations.

You would be part of a small team which is passionate about providing a great service to all our customers. Experience in social housing maintenance would be useful but more important is a sound technical knowledge of common building defects in residential buildings and a positive attitude towards providing excellent customer service. This is a rare but fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career. If you have the right foundations and attitude, we are willing to put in the time to help you get there.

Key responsibilities include:

- Deliver effective and efficient customer focused maintenance service to residents.
- Undertake inspections of properties to ascertain their condition and works required, including the preparation of schedules of work using the National Housing Federation Schedule of Rates.
- Undertake post inspections of responsive, cyclical and planned work completed by contractors and tenants to ensure quality and value for money
- Provide technical advice to residents, housing officers and repairs planners in a manner which ensures their understanding.

To be successful in the role, you will require:

- A sound technical knowledge and an understanding of responsive repairs and maintenance of residential buildings.
- A firm commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
- The ability to specify works using NHF Schedule of Rates.
- The ability to interpret drawings and specifications and explain content to non-technical people.
- Knowledge of current legislation regulations and standards relating to building construction, health and safety and contract documentation.

Housing for Women is an independent organisation and we support women in London to challenge the inequalities they face.
