Base - Wood Green, London (with flexibility) covering the London, South East & East Regions

 

£48,109 per annum (rising to £50,641 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance) plus Company car or car buyout

 

35 hours per week

The Construction Manager will be accountable for the successful delivery of new build construction projects within their region, ensuring they are in line with agreed budgets and meet the necessary legislative and regulatory standards. You will manage and monitor the day to day delivery of these programmes and projects on behalf of the Group, built via external contractors on our behalf.

 

The role of Construction Manager will include:

  • Overseeing and monitoring the day to day delivery of construction projects to ensure compliance with technical design and quality standards
  • Providing technical support and advice at all stages of construction from pre contract stage through to completion
  • Delivering high quality and value for money construction projects within agreed capital expenditure budgets and in line with legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Ensuring Health and Safety standards are met throughout completion of construction works
  • Effectively managing, communicating and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers, including contractors
  • Ensuring all construction projects are fit for purpose, completed to a high standard and meet the needs of the intended end user
  • Effectively managing Clerk of Works; carrying out performance management duties and developing quality staff

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Demonstrable experience working in a similar Construction Manager, Site Manager or Contracts Manager role
  • Have a proven background of working on new build projects within the construction industry
  • Posses an up to date working knowledge of building compliance and regulations
  • Have previous experience of working with and managing external contractors
  • Proven experience of managing staff
  • An excellent problem solver with outstanding influencing skills
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • This role will involve driving on company business, the Construction Manager will spend 50% of their time at various sites throughout the region, in order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence.
