St Mungo’s is a forward-thinking organisation that thrives upon the ideas, ambitions and diversity of our people. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Portfolio Officer to join our Strategic Asset Management team.

We are looking for an innovative and proactive individual, to support the Head of Portfolio, in the delivery of the Strategic Asset Management Plan, offering maximum benefit to our residents and the wider organisation.  With an ambition to reverse the rise in rough sleeping in all the areas we operate, we prioritise accommodation for the homeless.

As a new and developing, small team, this exciting post will have wide ranging influence and impact across the whole organisation. Reviewing and reporting on potential stock disposal, purchase and regeneration opportunities across the portfolio, you will build on the foundations of our 2800 existing bed spaces, to ‘feed’ the development programme, growing the portfolio up to 5000 bed spaces.

This will mean managing resources skilfully. You will have the ability to build new processes with senior colleagues, analyse data and undertake option appraisals, through to writing Gateway reports for internal approval. Supporting our services to procure new properties and improving our current stock, plus all associated financial analysis with the finance team will also be key to the role. You’ll need a talent for identifying a good opportunity above all else.

Qualification to degree level is essential (or equivalent work experience), with the desire to pursue professional accreditation such as RICS. A working knowledge and understanding of housing/residential development and management, plus property acquisition and basic familiarity with legal documents and processes. Experience gained from the affordable housing or supported sector would be beneficial.

In return, we offer a range of benefits including a pension scheme, staff discounts scheme and initiatives to help you maintain a healthy work/life balance. We are also committed to providing our staff with a wide range of learning and development opportunities in support of their personal and professional development.
