In order to take forward the Agency's mission, the Development Directorate is aiming to drive up land supply in order to deliver in excess of 10, 000 new homes per annum. This will necessitate that the Agency's land holdings are derisked and developed appropriately to ensure that they are commercial viable for disposal.

 

Our successful candidate(s) will:

Play a leading role in leading high performing team (s) of specialists, to provide planning and enabling expertise to help unlock planning and project manage delivery obstacles. To enable the delivery of new homes across the Homes England land portfolio, ranging in scale from small infill scheme to new settlements. This will be achieved by providing expertise and assurance on the delivery of activity to secure planning certainty on a regional portfolio of land assets, and use your skills, knowledge and experience to build up the capability of your team. The successful candidate (s) will be responsible for ensuring that all assets have appropriate delivery plans, and acts as the senior intelligent client for any planning or enabling works commissioned to third parties and is the point of escalation in these matters. The successful candidate (s) will also be responsible for taking a national approach to building relationships with the housebuilding community across multiple geographic regions and will be expected to work in agile way supporting the mission ¬based approach of Homes England. This will involve working collaboratively with partners across the Agency, including MPP and Investments, as multifunctional teams to support key deliverables such as the single pipeline.

 

Role responsibilities:

Leading and delivering the effective planning and enabling works across a range of sites in line with business plan targets, delivery plan milestones, working with internal and external stakeholders Ensuring that regular and accurate progress reports are providing, ensuring data systems are up to date, as part of the ongoing monitoring of performance across the business Contributing towards the development of appropriate guidance and technical input Ensuring that all statutory and organisational requirements for Health and Safety are met or exceeded and appropriate risk assessments are completed Proactively building, maintaining and utilising relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to resolve delivery issues as they arise

 

Person specification:

Degree level qualification and/or appropriate professional qualifications/ membership Extensive experience working at a senior level in a relevant sector. Extensive experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams. A strong awareness and understanding of the key current Government policies and priorities on housing and the contribution of the Homes England Strong project management skills to drive property based projects and knowledge of current best industry practice. Ambitious – Positively challenging colleagues and partners to do more and work more effectively Commercial – Using management information to achieve value for money and inform decision making; Continually developing and improving the services and experiences most important to our partners and colleagues; Ensuring we remain respectful even in challenging situations
