We are looking for a Disrepair Surveyor (1 post) to join our Neighbourhoods team.
Reporting to the Neighbourhoods Repairs Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for co-ordinating the delivery of Response Repairs Service as it relates to cases presented via the Disrepair Protocol.
Starting the Disclosure process for all Letters of Claim (LOC's) under The Disrepair Protocol ensuring strict compliance with deadlines and monitoring all cases and update the Disrepair Spreadsheet/Monitoring systems on a regular basis. Carry out full diagnostic survey and challenge allegations of Disrepair where appropriate in conjunction with internal Legal Department. Act as Onward's Expert Surveyor and attend Joint Surveys with opposing Solicitors' Surveyor when needed.
Complete Scott Schedules based on full diagnostic survey; write full Specifications and instruct Contractors to carry out agreed works to high quality standards. Monitor Contractor’s performance, ensure all work is carried out within the Disrepair Protocol timescales and carry out 100% Post Inspections of all work. Liaise closely with the Onward Legal Department and external Solicitors where appropriate. Provide reports on Disrepair Cases at regular intervals. Provide internal training as and when appropriate.
In order to be successful you will need to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of building construction and the Disrepair Protocol and all associated legislation. Experience managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You should hold a degree in Building related subject and professional qualification/membership in a property/building related specialism MCIOB,MRICS, MICE etc.
