The Help to Buy scheme seeks to stimulate demand for new homes by improving affordability. This will contribute towards Homes England's delivery of 300,000 new houses per year and will deliver the strategic objective of effectively delivering home ownership products and providing an industry standard service to consumers.

The Head of Business Management will support the scheme by:

- Leading the team's budgeting and business planning activities (including business cases and resource/delivery plans for new initiatives);

- Leading the team's longer term strategic planning;

- Leading the team's reporting and data analytics function;

- Co-ordinating the team's regular and ad-hoc reporting both internally and to external bodies

- Co-ordinating the team's engagement with the central Governance, Finance and HR functions

- Co-ordinating the team's responses to non-routine actions and requests from external bodies

- Leading the co-ordination of team wide administrative activities (annual appraisals, training delivery etc)

- Delivering ad-hoc project work under the direction of the General Manager HtB

 

The Business Manager will work collaboratively with colleagues to embed the values and behaviours that underpin the Homes England Way, and all strategic matters in relation to organisational performance and delivery of the Agency’s 5 Year Strategic Plan, and Development Programme; encouraging a learning culture focused upon improvement and high performance.

Our successful candidate will:

Lead the HtB budgeting, business planning and longer term strategic planning processes, including business cases and resource / delivery plans for new initiatives Lead the design, development and delivery of regular and ad-hoc MI, reporting and data analytics Work collaboratively with the HtB Leadership Team to support robust management of the Equity Loan Portfolio whilst providing appropriate level of assurance & oversight Seek innovative new approaches, interpretations and representations to drive new insights from existing data sets and to obtain access to new data to deliver new insights into the scheme. Support effective team management by co-ordinating team wide initiatives and administrative processes Ensure collaborative relationships are maintained between HtB and key stakeholders by effectively coordinating responses and managing relationships. Ensure the effective management of the financial portfolio, supported by strong first line risk and reporting processes. Maintain strong operational links with HE corporate services to support integrated delivery of core support services.

 

The skills we would like are: 

Experience in budgeting & business planning; Data analytics, including statistical and data representation techniques Numerate and comfortable with modelling techniques & key business metrics; A strong leader experienced in building high performing teams; Programme management & team co-ordination; Accounting qualifications desirable Mathematical/statistical/data qualifications desirable Advanced excel/VBA skills essential Fluency with common data analytics tools & programming languages desirable
