Do you want to help prevent homelessness in Brent?

Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.

The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.

The Post

The Housing Needs Service have implemented an ambitious transformation programme to better meet the needs of our residents. We have developed specialist family and single homelessness services to deliver sustainable housing outcomes for all. This includes the creation of the innovative Single Homelessness Prevention Service and our own brand new I.T. system to ensure an efficient customer journey.

We are seeking proactive, outcome focused people with the ability to communicate with residents and partners, develop effective partnerships, embrace change and develop professionally.

You will work flexibly with households as we recognise that no two circumstances are exactly the same and the resolution pathway will constantly be adapted to each case.

The Person

You must be able to demonstrate good knowledge and understanding of Homelessness legislation and case law coupled with hands-on experience of preventing homelessness and making section 184 decisions.

A people focused person, you will be passionate about good customer service and take pride in delivering an excellent service. You need to be able to work proactively, be highly motivated, ambitious and ready for a new challenge.
