We are looking for a creative and organised project manager to manage our Landlord Accreditation Scheme. PAL (Partnership Accreditation for Landlords) is a joint initiative between the council and the University of Hertfordshire. It is the first scheme of its kind in the county and has been designed to recognise and promote quality housing and management practices within the private rented sector.
PAL plays a crucial role in fulfilling the Private Sector Housing team’s commitment to improving the standard of all rented homes in the borough. As the Landlord Accreditation Manager, you’ll be integral to this. As a senior member of the team, you’ll supervise the work of technicians and officers within your team – ensuring that all aspects meet the high standards we hold as a service.
Managing a small but busy team and using strong influencing skills, you will work with private landlords, letting agents and other stakeholders to manage, promote and grow the scheme. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential, together with the confidence to make decisions based on sound judgements.
Staff management experience is essential as is the ability to inspire staff to work to their fullest and commit to service excellence. Leading from the front, you’ll provide a clear example for the rest of your team as well as communicating the scheme’s shared goals and achievements.
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.

Closing date: 1 December 2019.
Assessment & interview date: 11 December 2019.
