Plus brilliant benefits!

Giving our customers an amazing experience online. That’s when it hits home!

As an IS team we are setting out to be more digitally focussed, using the latest technologies, whilst ensuring that our customers are at the heart of everything we do. Our strategy is set, our direction is clear. What comes next is to apply our skills and experience through brilliant team work to innovate, design, and implement systems that deliver real business value.

We’ve got an excellent team foundation to build upon as our technical portfolio develops and expands; that’s where you come in.

We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join us as our Full Stack Developer (known here at Home Group as an IS Web Developer). You’ll work with our current developers in our fully agile team. You’ll build high quality, robust and fully performing web solutions that conform to best practise and technical design. You’ll also play your part in making suggestions towards continuously improving our Digital Development processes. You’ll build on and maintain our clean code base and work to our technical release management as well as being a great communicator and team player (in short you are awesome!)

About our team

You’ll join our great team who are super passionate about building and delivering innovative Digital solutions using the latest technologies. To us were not just a team we’re a ‘work family’. The Digital Development team is currently made up of developers, DevOps and UX Designers (10 in total). There is our manager Darren, who has recently joined and is a passionate Liverpool fan (don’t hold that against him!), our DevOps Mark & Callum who have come up through the ranks in Home Group and Adele our camper van loving UX designer, to name a few. We work closely with our testers and product owners to form our Scrum teams. We don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too!

A bit about you

You have experience as a web developer and are able to develop futureproof and quality solutions using the latest technologies (including React, NodeJS and Azure). Some experience in .Net would be of benefit as well but not critical. You have knowledge of test driven development and web development tools. You have experience in development best practise and working with Agile methodologies. With a customer focused approach you recognise the key part we play in delivering a service to our business, ensuring a high quality product.

Working hours

Here at Home Group we believe flexibility works both ways. Our focus is on getting the job done, not your working hours! It’s important to us that you’re in the office so we can work collaboratively and share best practices amongst the team. However there will be times, when you might work from home to concentrate on a particular piece of work. Throughout it’s the team’s unwritten rule that you attend the important appointments in life, be it your child’s school play, your partner’s graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered. You can elect to fit these around your working day or use your flexi to take the time off.
